![]() ![]() The Preds reached the playoffs again the following year, thanks to Filip Forsberg’s 64 points and 33 goals, and faced the favored Anaheim Ducks. Nashville pushed the Chicago Blackhawks to six games before falling to the eventual Stanley Cup champ. In 2014-2015, Seth Jones joined the team and, along with Vezina Trophy-finalist Rinne, led the team to 41 wins and another playoff berth. Facing the Detroit Red Wings, Rinne continually stopped shot after shot and Nashville would win the series in Game 5 in front of a jubilant home crowd. With Pekka Rinne minding the net and 50-point seasons from Martin Erat, David Legwand, and Mike Fisher, the 2011-2012 Predators won 48 games. Led by original Predator David Legwand, they eliminated the Anaheim Ducks in the playoffs and moved on to the second round for the first time ever. The 2010-2011 season saw Pekka Rinne take over as the Nashville Predators goalkeeper. The team scored 110 points and notched 51 wins in the regular season. The next year, Peter Forsberg joined the Preds and helped them to another second-place finish. The Predators past the 100-point mark for their first time and finished in second place in the west with 49 wins. In 2005-2006, Paul Kariya joined Nashville and immediately led the team in points with 85. Known as “Smashville”, the Predators home ice is located at Bridgestone Arena. An expansion team founded before the 1998-1999 season, the Predators have enjoyed tremendous success, highlighted by their trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in the 2016-2017 season.
